Seer
Commune anonymously with another player; their replies remain sealed until the next night if you survive as a Seer. Once, receive a delayed revelation of a non-Ruler’s faction.
YOUR WIN CONDITION
Eliminate every Cult member and hostile Neutral while an Innocent survives. Executing the Martyr makes your faction lose.
A RUMOUR AT COURT
The Seer carries a cracked mirror through the court. It reflects every mouth at once, but takes a full night to remember what any of them said.
THE ART OF PLAYING YOUR PART
How to play Seer
An Innocent investigator with two ways to gather delayed evidence. Commune opens an anonymous private conversation: the target reads your words immediately, while its replies reach you as an equal-length line of # characters. If you reach the next night alive and still an Innocent Seer, those replies become readable.
Choose one power for the night. Use Commune to ask a useful question, or spend your single Revelation on a non-Ruler whose exact faction will help the court. Neither power gives an immediate authenticated allegiance result.
FROM THE LIVE GAME RULES
Your abilities
NIGHT ABILITY
Commune
Commit your night to an anonymous private conversation. Replies unlock next night only if you survive as an Innocent Seer.
NIGHT ABILITY
Revelation
Once, sample a non-Ruler’s faction at tonight’s resolution and learn it at the start of the next night if you survive as an Innocent Seer.
Charge counts and ability text come from the game itself. “No charge limit” does not remove timing, targeting, or other restrictions.
YOUR CLASS ACHIEVEMENT
A name to earn.
Seer
Yesterday Speaks
Title: The Far-Sighted
Survive to unlock replies from 10 Commune conversations as Seer. Empty conversations do not count.
No passive bonus. Your title changes no match powers.
A LITTLE WISDOM GOES A LONG WAY
At the table
- 01
Commune has no charge limit and opens from Night 1. You cannot contact yourself; you may return to the same target on later nights, and the Ruler can be contacted. Opening the conversation commits that night’s action immediately, so prepare the question before choosing the target.
- 02
Your target knows it is speaking to a Seer but does not learn your seat or identity from the channel. It can still infer or claim an identity through ordinary conversation.
- 03
The target always sees its own original replies. You see their length while the text is sealed, then their words at the start of the following night if you remain alive and an Innocent Seer. The mask counts Unicode codepoints, so it exposes reply length, not its letters.
- 04
Revelation has one charge and opens from Night 1. It samples the target’s faction when that night resolves, before recruitment, and delivers at the next night’s start if you remain alive and an Innocent Seer. The target’s later death does not cancel that historical result. Date the result: later recruitment or possession can make it historical.
- 05
Protect your own survival and preserve other players’ access to useful evidence while you wait.
Mind the trap.
- Commune replies are testimony, not a faction test. Delayed text can still be a lie.
- If you die or are converted before the next-night release, unrevealed replies and Revelation results stay sealed forever. A phase ending the match before that next night does not accelerate delivery.
- Revelation cannot target the Ruler; the office’s hidden allegiance remains sealed.
- An attempt to contact a detained prisoner commits the choice but cannot open a conversation. The target picker does not reveal who is jailed; a prevented attempt returns only a generic result. Jailing either participant cuts an existing Commune session. Detention can also prevent Revelation.
- The ordinary dawn notice only says Revelation is pending; success and failure are both withheld until the next-night gate. Revelation can be revised before the normal night deadline. Commune cannot be revised once its session opens. You cannot use both in one night.
WHEN YOU FACE THIS CLASS
Counterplay
- 01
If contacted, distinguish the authenticated Seer channel from any claim the speaker makes about their identity or information.
- 02
Reply with precise dates, targets and claims that can be checked later. The Seer cannot read your reply immediately, but can see its length.
- 03
Opponents can lie in the conversation or act before delayed evidence arrives. A Warden’s jail prevents outside contact; protect or isolate carefully rather than assuming every private exchange is helpful.
